The Architects Of Amelia Island

Learn about architecture and the architects that shaped our island homes from the beginning with the Timucuans to contemporary times. Join us and have fun designing, building and viewing houses! Meet an architect who lives in Fernandina Beach and designs homes and buildings right here. Be an architect for a day and build a miniature “Tiny Home”

 

For: Children ages 10-12

When: June 12th-16th, 9am-12pm

Cost: $50

Where: Amelia Island Museum of History, 233 S. 3rd Street, Fernandina Beach, FL. Forms available at the front desk. Space is very limited, your spot is not reserved until forms and payment are received.

Adventures in 1783

No electricity, no stores, no schools and what else was missing!! Discover what it was like to live here on the island before a town was built, 234 years ago. Join two kids who lived here in 1783- Maria and Luis Mattair. What did they see and what did they do all day. Have fun trying new skills like sewing, tracking,cooking and writing with quill pens.

For: Ages 7-9

When: July 24th – 28th, 9am-12pm
