From the turning points of WWII to the rising tensions of the Cold War, this talk covers the high-stakes events that reshaped our world. Gary will highlight the Battle of Midway and the consequential Tehran, Yalta, and Potsdam Conferences, followed by a deep dive into the division of Germany and the heroic Berlin Airlift.

The session concludes with the impact of the 1949 Soviet atomic bomb explosion and a rare screening of two vintage films: the propaganda classic “Make Mine Freedom” and the famous Civil Defense guide “Duck and Cover.”
