Have more time? Rather be outside? Join us for a docent-led Walking Tour around downtown Fernandina, a 52-block National Register of Historic Places site. Each of our four tours focuses on particular aspects of our history and our town. We are sure you will find something for you and your family or friends to enjoy !

NOTE: Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance, except for tours on Saturdays or Sundays
which require 2 business days prior to the tour date.

CENTRE STREET TOUR

Hear fascinating stories of the families, businesses and marine industries that shaped downtown Fernandina over the past 175 years. Discover historic buildings like the Customs Office (now our Post Office), Courthouse and Chandlery Building, and learn how a town decimated by fires and hurricanes rebuilt every time.

This walk through our National Historic District lasts 1 hour and covers approximately 8 blocks.

Tickets are $15 adult/$10 child

MURDER, MYSTERY & MAYHEM

Who is Charles Angel and how was he assassinated? Stroll through time as your guide regales you with stories of death, chaos and mystery across two centuries!

This walk is 1.5 hours in length and covers approximately 12 blocks.

THE GILDED AGE TOUR

The 1870s-1890s capped Fernandina’s Gilded Age. Enjoy this walk along Fernandina’s glorious north end, including the wealthy ’Silk Stocking’ District, site of some of the Historic District’s most beautiful homes. Hear stories of some of the unique players in the rapid growth of our town.

This walk is 1 hour in length and covers approximately 8 blocks.

ARCHITECTURE TOUR

This tour explores the South Side’s rich architectural history. It includes historic churches, the ‘Three Sisters’, identical houses built from the remains of the grand Egmont Hotel, some of the largest mansions in the City, and the Florida House Inn, the oldest continuously running hotel in Florida.

This walk is 1.5-2 hours in length and covers approximately 12 blocks.

Tickets are $20 adult/ $15 child
